University of Chicago Pritzker medical students lead 45-minute weekly park walks at Promontory Point and hold informal discussions on health-related topics. Walk with us!

Wellness Walks

The Chicago Parks Foundation supports the movement of ‘parks as good medicine.’
Get outside with us and join our seasonal Wellness Walks. They’re good for you and good for our parks! 

Medical pros lead 45-min park walks and informal discussions on health-related topics like sleep, nutrition, and exercise. CPF is proud to partner with students and healthcare providers from local medical institutions to lead our walking program. 

Wellness Walks are a free, low-pressure way to get some movement, connect with fellow community members, learn about your own health, and enjoy your beautiful parks!

EVENT DETAILS:
Meeting Location: Wallach Fountain located at Promontory Point - 5491 S DuSable Lake Shore Dr.
Event Day Contact: Sydney, Corinne, Kenneth, and Bernadette

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Register to attend the walks using the 'REGISTER' button on the right.
2. Head to the park on event day and look for signage indicating where the walks will start as noted in the shift details.
3. Walk, talk and enjoy this low pressure way to get moving, connect with your neighbors and learn more about your own health!

• Wellness Walk leaders do not provide medical advice. Conversation is meant to be casual and general.

• Children under 18 must be accompanied by parent/guardian. 

• All walks take place rain or shine unless participants are otherwise notified.

• Please BYO water and dress appropriately for outdoors walking (closed-toe shoes, sun protection, weather appropriate clothing, etc.).
